Hi Erik
Back in May 2004 you posted the following (part shown), the link has
gone, can you update for me? IHAC with Onyx3000 IR reality centre who
using some open API s/w which calls OpenAL.
We are looking for compiled binary for 6.5.21 (6.5.any).

I would appreciate it if some users would test this new backend and
report any issues with it.

The source can be found at:

The backend has been included in the CVS version of OpenAL and is now
the default for IRIX. Please go to the following link to get the latest
release:

http://www.openal.org/downloads.html

I am planning to provide a binary build for use with FlightGear 0.9.5
which will be released soon (http://www.flightgear.org). I could try to
release the binaries for OpenAL before FlightGear.

Very cool! Does the new version use fewer CPU cycles as well?

Nifty! I'll have to give FlightGear a try to get ready!

Probably not, it has to do some extra work to get 4 channel audio
working (two channel should be the same). But to be honest, I didn't
notice much of the CPU power required by OpenAL. It seems very marginal.

Maybe you have used an old version of OpenAL?
